Stade des Costières architect Vittorio Gregotti has passed away from COVID-19

Italian architect Vittorio Gregotti passed away on 15th March at the age of 92 after contracting COVID-19.

Gregotti was the mastermind behind Ligue 1 side Nîmes’ stadium, the Stade des Costières, after being selected by the local authorities to design the edifice which was inaugurated in 1989.

Gregotti was responsible for some of the most important recent buildings in Europe, notably Aix-en-Provence’s “Le Grand Théâtre” and “Centro Cultural de Belém” in Lisbon.
