Tottenham, Atletico Madrid & an Italian side make contact for Nordi Mukiele

L’Équipe report that Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid and an unnamed big Italian side have all made contact to sign RB Leipzig’s French right-sided defender Nordi Mukiele.

Mukiele has all the characteristics of a modern, versatile defender, capable of playing in a back three or in a back four. The market for top quality full-backs will be small in supply and intense in demand this summer, and it is therefore no surprise that there is considerable interest in the 22-year-old. His performances against Tottenham in the Champions’ League have left a considerable impression on a number of Europe’s elite, including the North London side, who have made an initial approach, to inform the player’s camp of their interest in him.

Atletico Madrid and an unnamed large Italian side have done the same. Sky Germany were reporting earlier this week that PSG had made contact, and whilst Thomas Tuchel continues to observe Mukiele from afar, the French newspaper deny this reporting, claiming there has been no formal contact at this time.
