Unnamed FC Metz player self-isolating after coming into contact with COVID-19 positive patient

Ligue 1 side Metz have announced in an official communiqué this evening that an unnamed player is self-quarantining after coming into close contact with an individual who has received a positive test for COVID-19.

This player is currently not showing any signs of having the virus themselves, but following national health protocols, he has been immediately confined to his home.

The rest of the Metz 1st team squad will continue to train but the situation will be monitored closely and could change.

Metz announce that their training sessions will remain behind closed doors until further notice and that journalists will no longer be allowed to interview players one-on-one.

Metz have informed the LFP of this incident and state that they will adhere to whatever guidance they are given.
