France Football report that Premier League side West Ham United are actively considering making a move for 25-year-old FC Nantes defensive midfielder Abdoulaye Touré.
The Hammers are looking for a player in this position, having also made a proposal for Steven N’Zonzi, and certain scouts have in the past made comparisons between Touré and Cheikhou Kouyaté, who enjoyed some success at West Ham before moving on to Crystal Palace.
West Ham like Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson’s profile, but the Frenchman has no intention of quitting OM this month.
The outlet talks of “concrete interest” from the Hammers for defensive midfielder Touré, who is under contract until 2022 with Les Canaris. Touré is in talks about an extension, but these are not going particularly well, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News.
If Nantes are to sell this month, they want €15m – West Ham would prefer a loan with option to buy.
