The MLS announced on Friday that they have opened a formal investigation into the signing of French international midfielder Blaise Matuidi by David Beckham’s franchise, Inter Miami CF.
The investigation is looking into whether the World Cup winner’s signing conformed with salary cap and MLS regulations.
No further comment was provided by the US soccer body at this stage.
Inter Miami also put out a short statement, taking note of the investigation, but declining to comment further at this time.
Matuidi, who spent 3 years at Juventus from 2018 to 2020, joined the Miami club last summer on a free transfer.
