A noisy summer transfer window for Chelsea’s French international defender Kurt Zouma looks set to continue, report L‘Équipe. Having been linked with a multitude of clubs, such as Wolves (the player rejected an approach), Sevilla, Roma and West Ham, Zouma’s future remains in flux.
Initially targeted by José Mourinho’s Roma, a reunion with the former Chelsea boss interested the player, the transfer eventually proved too difficult to complete financially.
Chelsea had included the 26-year-old Zouma as part of an offer for Sevilla defender Jules Koundé, which L‘Équipe report was €30m plus Zouma, but Sevilla sporting director, Monchi, rejected the deal.
West Ham had offered £25m but perhaps didn’t do enough to convince the club and/or the player suggest the sports daily, although discussions are continuing. However, a contractual agreement has not yet been reached with Zouma in no rush to leave Chelsea.
