L’Équipe report that Belgian 1st division side Club Brugge are poised to complete the signing of French youth international left-back Faitout Maouassa from Rennes today.
The 23-year-old had an agreement in principle to join Gladbach in Germany earlier this window, but a deal never came, and with 12 months left on his existing contract with SRFC, the Brittany side felt now was the right time to cash in.
The deal will cost the Belgian outfit more than €4m.
Under the guidance of new manager Philippe Clément, Maouassa will be playing Champions’ League football this season should the deal be concluded and the player passes his medical.
Maouassa is expected to travel to Belgium imminently to conclude a move and has already agreed personal terms with Club Brugge.
