Speaking to TF1, France manager Didier Deschamps discussed what he expects to do next, with his current contract expiring just after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, being asked if he would like to win the Champions’ League as a manager.
“I am not asking myself that question. I had the opportunity with the Champions’ League and I did not win it (the final with Monaco in 2004). Will I win it? I am not chasing that.”
“Each day, I am coming a little closer to the end of my life as national team manager, it is like that. That does not stop me from really living it. I will certainly, after my life as national team manager, have another life. I do not know which one, but it will be a very good one as well. If it is as a manager of a club, I will not change. I am not trying to do the rounds in terms of trophies but when I am in charge of a team, as a national team boss or club manager, obviously it is to win titles.”
