Didier Deschamps unveils France squad for World Cup qualifiers

France manager Didier Deschamps has this afternoon announced his team ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifiers. The squad list is the first since France’s shock last-16 defeat to Switzerland at this summer’s Euros, with several new faces appearing, namely Jordan Veretout, while Olivier Giroud misses out.

Les Bleus will face Bosnia and Herzegonvina next Wednesday, Ukraine on Saturday, September 4, and Finland on the following Wednesday. Deschamps’ men are currently top of their qualifying group with seven points.

France September qualifiers – full squad:

GK: Lloris, Maignan, Mandanda,

DEF: Dubois, Digne, Kimpembe, Koundé, Upamecano, Varane, Zouma, Théo Hernandez.

MID: Tchouaméni, Pogba, Kanté, Tolisso, Veretout.

ATT: Mbappé, Benzema, Coman, Diaby, Griezmann, Lemar, Martial.
