Inter Milan considering Marcus Thuram as a Romelu Lukaku replacement, clubs disagree on fee

Following Romelu Lukaku’s departure for Chelsea, Italian champions Inter Milan, now under the tutelage of Simone Inzaghi, are looking to sign a striker with Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata and Joaquin Correa of Lazio both options for the Milanese club, as is Borussia Mönchengladbach’s French international forward Marcus Thuram.

According to Ignazio Genuardi, Thuram has made Inter’s shortlist to replace Lukaku and the German club would be looking for €30m plus bonuses to part with the 24-year-old, formerly of Sochaux and Guingamp. However, Inter are looking to sign the player for a figure closer to €25m.

Capped four times by France to date, Thuram has contributed 25 goals and 21 assists across 80 games in all competitions for Mönchengladbach since arriving in the Bundesliga back in 2019.
