Kurt Zouma wages stall swap deal as Chelsea agree terms with Koundé

Julien Maynard of Telefoot reports this afternoon that Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, a potential counterpart to Jules Koundé’s transfer to Sevilla, has yet to hold talks with either club involved in the deal.

With Koundé closing in on his move to London – the former Bordeaux man has come to an agreement with Chelsea – his fellow French international could form part of a swap deal, although his high wages are a stumbling block.

With Chelsea yet to come to an agreement on terms with the La Liga side, fellow Londoners Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur also remain options for the central defender – who would prefer to remain in the Premier League.

RMC Sport report that Koundé has already spoken with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel over the German coach’s plans for the defender, as the Blues look be decisively ahead in the race for his signature.
