Kylian Mbappé leaves France squad after calf issue

The FFF have confirmed tonight that Kylian Mbappé leaves the France set-up today following a calf issue the forward picked up during last night’s 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The 22-year-old had undergone tests this morning which revealed no injury, but was still experiencing some pain.

L’Équipe report that Didier Deschamps will not call up a replacement for the Paris Saint-Germain star, with the round of Covid-19 testing needed to travel for Saturday’s match against Ukraine already being done this morning.

Mbappé will miss Les Bleus’ second qualifier of the international break in Kyiv, as well as Tuesday’s match against Finland to be held in Lyon.
