The LFP have confirmed that Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs have voted unanimously to block their players from leaving the European Union and the European Economic Area during the international break coming up later this month.
This ruling will disproportionately impact African nations, with South American national team matches already having been postponed owing to COVID-19.
The French clubs have done this because owing to national policy on COVID-19, players returning from the international break would miss the first domestic league game back owing to quarantine rules.
