Speaking in an interview with RMC Sport, Lyon President Jean Michel Aulas moved to deny the existence of a rift between Sporting Director Juninho and manager Rudi Garcia.
“Problems, no. They have visions which compliment each other. Juninho’s vision is in the medium and long term. I speak practically everyday with the two of them. Rudi wants, and I would say is practically obliged, to get Lyon Champions’ League football. He was recruited to achieve that objective and maybe better. So certainly, there are discussions and exchanges, and that is extremely positive for the institution, opinions that might not be the same.”
“I am sure that Juninho wants what’s best for Lyon. And if what’s best for Lyon is even better results, obviously we will find solutions that are out there today. There are no differences between Rudi and Juninho. There are from time to time different approaches that I want to try to find the best solution for OL to be as high up the league as possible and return to the European Cup. I know that we have common interests.”
