Lyon unlikely to sign striker as Laborde and Kolo Muani options ruled out

L’Équipe report tonight that Lyon are now unlikely to recruit a striker before the end of the transfer window, having explored Gaëtan Laborde and Randal Kolo Muani as options after a deal for Zenit St. Petersburg’s Sardar Azmoun was no longer possible.

The Lyon management were interested in bringing in the Montpellier forward, with the club considering that the former Bordeaux man would not significantly improve the squad, with his club setting their asking price at €15m.

Les Gones had first sounded out Nantes striker Randal Kolo Muani as a priority today, but the approach was turned down – the Frenchman is intent on running his contract down to the end of the season;
