Speaking in an interview with Canal Plus, Metz full-back Fabien Centonze confirmed he has recently been approached by Ligue 1 side Marseille about a possible move.
“Marseille were interested in me, they entered into contact with my agent. I said to my agent to only come to see me if something was truly concrete, I did not want that to impact me. I don’t want to enter into all that if there is nothing concrete. There was no concrete offer. Of course it is flattering. They are a big club, one of the biggest clubs in France. I am proud that a club like Marseille is interested in me.”
“I am 25, I want to experience everything in my career, I have big objectives, I want to experience the European cups, the Europa League and the Champions’ League, maybe the World Cup with the national team. There are certainly things that I cannot expect. But if I make enough sacrifices, it is to push things further. If there is an opportunity from next year, we are going to go to the table and think if it could help me in terms of progressing.”
