Ligue 1 side Metz will conclude a deal to sign French youth international and AS Nancy attacking midfielder Amine Bassi, according to Saber Desfarges.
Bassi, 23, will arrive as a free agent when his deal with ASNL expires next month. Les Grenats had been in negotiations to sign the player already last summer, but could not agree a fee with Nancy.
Ligue 1 side Brest had been leading the race for Bassi as recently as two weeks ago, but Metz’s more settled status in the French top flight, with SB29 facing off a relegation-avoiding clash vs PSG on Sunday, has played in Les Grenats’ favour.
A 4-year contract is expected to be signed by Bassi with Metz.
