After Ligue 1’s TV rights debacle last season, which contributed heavily to leaving the entire French top flight in financial difficulty following the collapse of Mediapro’s French football subscription service Téléfoot Chaine, Amazon’s Prime Video will pick up the majority of Ligue 1’s broadcast rights this season.
The streaming service’s first foray into French football will be Friday night’s opening encounter between Monaco and Nantes at Stade Louis II on August 6th.
