L’Équipe report today that France midfielder Paul Pogba is now telling those around him that he sees himself extending his contract with Manchester United.
His entourage is said to have a clear goal in mind, which is to make the former Juventus man the highest, or at least one of the highest, paid players in Premier League history.
With this in mind, very few clubs on the European football scene are able to offer the World Cup winner a salary at the level of the English club – PSG, despite their tentative efforts to sign him this summer, the midfielder is not necessarily willing to return to France.
His salary is out of Bayern Munich’s usual range, while Chelsea’s Marina Granovskaia would not deal with Mino Raiola, the player’s agent. In any case, it appears that Manchester United have the upper hand with regard to tying down their midfielder to a new contract, with Pogba at ease at the club. L’Équipe sources have indicated that discussions between the parties involved are at varying stages in their progress.
