PLAYER RATINGS | Marseille 1-2 Brest, Franck Honorat’s rocket gives the Breton side a sixth win in a row

MARSEILLE – 1 (Gerson 29)

Pau López, 4

William Saliba, 4

Álvaro González, 4

Luan Peres, 4

Valentin Rongier, 3

Boubacar Kamara, 3 – He was extremely unfortunate to concede the penalty in the second half but again looked a little lethargic and was unable to impact the game as he would have hoped for midfield. Maybe his contractual situation is becoming a distraction.

Mattéo Guendouzi, 3 – Not his usual ferocious self and his displays have plateaued of late after a brilliant start to the year. He somehow sides footed wide a huge chance to give OM the lead in the second half and was a little wasteful on the ball at times.

Gerson, 6 – One of his best all-around Marseille performances after a superb goal against Nantes last week and it was his charging run and emphatic finish that opened the scoring here with his intensity noticeably increased. Sampaoli is right, he’s more effective closer to the opposition goal, although he should do better sliding in at the back post late on.

Konrad de la Fuente, 3

Dimitri Payet, 6 – A long way from his best but showed flashes of class throughout and took the assist for the opener after exchanging passes with Gerson.

Amine Harit, 3

Others: Under 5, Milik 4, Lirola 6.

BREST – 2 (Faivre 53, Honorat 70)

Marco Bizot, 6

Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel, 6

Christophe Hérelle, 6

Brendan Chardonnet, 5

Jean-Kévin Duverne, 6

Haris Belkebla, 6

Hugo Magnetti, 6

Jérémy Le Douaron, 7 – A constant nuisance for OM’s defence with his work rate and persistence, bringing fellow Brest forwards into the game. It was his clever back-heel assist that set up the winner.

Romain Faivre, 6

Franck Honorat, 7 – He was once again Brest’s driving force and it was his driving run and thunderbolt of a finish that won the game for the Breton side.

Romain Del Castillo, 5

Others: Cardona 6, Agoume 5, Said 5.
