TF1 & M6 offer to broadcast Ligue 1 “for free” to boost exposure

Le Figaro report that TF1 and M6 have made contact with the LFP to offer to broadcast the Ligue 1 matches on its free to air channels following the upcoming withdrawal of Mediapro and Canal +. Both proposals are temporary while waiting for the LFP to find a new broadcaster and both are suggesting that during this period, they would not pay the LFP any money to access the rights.

In a statement to Le Figaro, TF1 stated:

“TF1 is a historic partner to French football and even though we are not in a position to buy the league, we are of course open to discussions with the LFP to help to find a solution in a difficult period.”
