Vladimir Petković to become new Bordeaux manager

L’Équipe report tonight that Vladimir Petković will become the new Bordeaux manager, after an agreement was reached with the Swiss football association to free the coach from his contract.

Petković’s contract was set to run for an additional year, having been in charge of the Nati since 2014, and notably knocked out World Cup winners France in this summer’s Euros. The former midfielder will now sign a three-year contract with Les Girondins and become Jean-Louis Gasset’s successor, as the club look for a fresh start under the ownership of Gérard Lopez.

The new manager will be in the stands for Bordeaux’s final pre-season friendly against Troyes.
