A last-ditch attempt made by Olympiacos to sign Keylor Navas from PSG

Olympiacos made an audacious attempt to lure Paris Saint-Germain star Keylor Navas away from the French capital just before the deadline on September 15 in the transfer window in Greece.

The report from Foot Mercato understands Olympiacos discussed a late move with PSG for the 35-year-old Costa Rican goalkeeper. But the prospect of moving to Greece did not excite the three-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid.

The report also suggests that the goalkeeper was close to joining Napoli earlier in the summer. But with the Italian side showing their unwillingness to match the financial demands of the French club, the deal never saw the light of success.

Since joining PSG from Real Madrid in 2019, Navas has made 162 appearances in all competitions. However, there has been an ongoing tussle for the starting spot between him and Gianluigi Donnarumma since the latter’s arrival from Milan. As things stand, Navas has two years left in his current contract at the Ligue 1 side.
