Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot’s withdrawal from the France squad opened the doors of international opportunities for Aston Villa star Boubacar Kamara.
But as reported by L’Équipe, Boubacar Kamara has appeared to be injured at Aston Villa, potentially risking his involvement with his national squad later this month.
On Friday, the FFF announced that he would be Rabiot’s replacement at France for their upcoming UEFA Nations League matches, with the champions of the 2018 World Cup locking horns with Austria and Denmark, respectively.
The former OM midfielder came off injured in Villa’s Premier League encounter against Southampton. The report suggests that the 22-year-old Frenchman has sustained an injury to his right knee.
Kamara was the replacement for Rabiot, who is unable to make the cut due to a calf injury. Didier Deschamps’ side has not won a game in the latest edition of the UEFA Nations League yet, drawing only two out of four games played. As such, they stand last in a group that includes Denmark, Croatia, and Austria.
