Alexander Djiku injured on international duty

L’Équipe are reporting that Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku (28) has picked up a calf injury whilst on international duty with Ghana.

Strasbourg have struggled with injuries this season, and they now look set to lose their vice-captain. Ghana manager Otto Addo said, “He has a bit of pain so he will undergo tests.”

L’Équipe report that Djiku is suffering from a calf injury, and he is therefore set to undergo an MRI on Tuesday afternoon in order to ascertain the severity of the injury. As a result, he is not available for selection for Tuesday night’s match against Nicaragua, whilst he is also now a big doubt for Strasbourg’s match against Rennes on Saturday.

However, in better news for Strasbourg, the Alsace club are set to once again have Maxime Le Marchand and Gerzino Nyamsi available for selection for this weekend’s match. The club are looking to turn a corner having started the season poorly. They currently sit in 18th place in Ligue 1.
