Newcastle forward Allan Saint-Maximin (25) revealed that he believes he “has the quality” to one day win the Ballon d’Or during an interview with Goal.
During the interview, he stated, “When I talk about the Ballon d’Or, it’s a dream. I think every player dreams of winning it; it’s a childhood dream. It’s true that, currently, I’m far away from winning it, but in terms of quality, I think I’m capable of getting there.”
The French forward has registered 5 goals and 4 assists in the Premier League this season, and has the more immediate objective of getting into the French national team ahead of the Qatar World Cup.
Questioned about a call-up, he admitted, “It’s difficult not to think about it.” He did, however, reveal that he has yet to be contacted by the selectionners.
