As reported by Le Parisien, PSG’s soon-to-be out-of-contract forward Angel Di Maria feels betrayed by the club and their treatment of him this season.
PSG’s leading assist provided for all-time is scheduled to leave the club after this Saturday’s game with Metz where no overt tribute is planned for the 34-year-old after seven seasons at the club. Having so far not been offered a new deal by PSG, who have also declined to activate the optional year in the player’s current deal as it stands, Di Maria has agreed a contract with Juventus ahead of the summer. The club says, however, that a decision is yet to be made on his future, according to the Paris paper.
Having expected his deal to be extended into next season, with his family happy in Paris, Di Maria feels betrayed and is furious at the club’s apparent change of mind. The player’s hopes of staying at PSG largely rest on the future of sporting director Leonardo, should the Brazilian be sacked, Di Maria could yet stay. But this is a long shot for the player as the situation stands.
