Antoine Kombouaré: “I haven’t made my decision yet.”

Speaking ahead of Nantes’ fixture against Rennes on Wednesday, Antoine Kombouaré did little to dampen talk surrounding his future as the Breton side’s manager.

In a pre-match press conference transcribed by L’Équipe, Kombouaré said, “I’m not important. If I announce objectives whilst I’m thinking about my future, then I’m not serious. Today, we’re not talking about my situation. I haven’t made my decision; there is nothing definitive”

Kombouaré won Nantes’ first trophy for 20 years on Saturday, when he led his side to victory in the Coupe de France final against OGC Nice. Since, his future has been in doubt, and he has publicly admitted to a strained relationship with president Waldemar Kita.

I will take the time to meet with the President. I have never spoken about leaving, I am a happy man and I have a contract. We’ll see at the end of the season.”
