As reported by L’Équipe, Arkadiusz Milik’s situation at Marseille is becoming clearer ahead of the transfer window after an inconsistent season.
The Polish player is now likely to stay at OM. That’s despite reported unhappiness at the club and Jorge Sampaoli being seemingly not so keen on his profile as a striker, amid friction between the pair. The 28-year-old he is keen to play in the Champions League with OM while being happy in the city itself.
However, a major offer could yet change the situation, especially if it comes from another Champions League club. This makes Nantes’ reported interest ahead of their Europa League campaign even less likely to progress.
Milik managed 20 goals in 37 games across all competitions this season but only seven of those goals came in the league where he made 23 outings. Overall, Milik managed a goal every 116 minutes of play this season.
Meanwhile, no contact has been made with Napoli forward Dries Mertens as a possible replacement say the sports daily.
