Atlético de Madrid in pole position for Boubacar Kamara

As reported by Foot Mercato Atlético de Madrid are now in pole position to sign Boubacar Kamara from Marseille at the end of the season when the 22-year-old’s contract will expire.

Manchester United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Roma and Borussia Dortmund are also interested, say the outlet, but Atléti have emerged as front runners after they made a late but unsuccessful attempt in January to sign the player. Now, a verbal agreement exists between player and club but nothing has been signed as yet.

Newcastle remain hopeful, however, as do Manchester United. But the Manchester club are hamstrung by uncertainty over their managerial situation during Ralf Rangnick’s interim spell. Although it now seems increasingly unlikely, Marseille, as president Pablo Longoria explained last week, still remain hopeful the defensive midfielder will stay. Roma recently cooled their interest after a call from Jose Mourinho failed to convince the player.
