Foot Mercato report this afternoon that Houssem Aouar, who will see his Lyon contract expire at the end of the season, has received approaches from both Atlético Madrid and Inter.
The one-time French international was on the verge of a move to Nottingham Forest over the summer – other clubs such as Fulham were also in the race – but Lyon’s demands were not met.
Aouar has yet to appear since the very start of the season, despite not being injured, and in spite of the fact that a contract extension remains a possibility for the midfielder. Peter Bosz’s men remain on a four-game losing streak, but the 24-year-old has remained on the bench throughout that run despite the team’s evident struggles. In any case, he will be free to sign a pre-contract wherever he pleases come January.
Sevilla and cross-town rivals Real Betis remain interested, while Atlético Madrid and Inter have already reached out to the player over a free transfer.
