Bayern Munich leading race to sign Reims striker Hugo Ekitike

90 Football report that Bayern Munich are leading the race to sign Reims striker Hugo Ekitike, ahead of the likes of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Sevilla.

The Champagne side are not willing to negotiate below €40m for their 19-year-old goalscorer, a figure which has notably seen Borussia Dortmund step back from negotiations as they wait to sell Erling Haaland first.

The Bavarians have a clear advantage of many of the other contenders for Ekitike’s signature in that they do not need to sell first, and that his arrival would have no impact on Robert Lewandowski’s future, with the Pole yet to renew his contract which expires at the end of next year.

His entourage are said to be convinced by the prospect of having the striker play for the Bundesliga side, who have made him one of their priority signings.
