Burnley target Metz’s Georges Mikautadze

L’Équipe are reporting that Burnley are interested in Metz’s Georgian striker Georges Mikautadze (21), whilst Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that the Championship side have already made Metz an offer of €2.5m.

Burnley are on the hunt for a striker and a few weeks ago, they even approached Strasbourg’s Ludovic Ajorque (28). Their latest target is Mikautadze, who has enjoyed an impressive start to Metz’s Ligue 2 campaign. The Georgian international has already scored twice and registered three assists in just four matches.

Burnley may find it difficult to prise the player away from Metz, as his current club are reportedly reluctant to sell Mikautadze. Having come through the ranks at the club, Mikautadze has broken through this season. Prior to his recent run of four games, he had only made two appearances for the club.

Mikautadze has spent most of his professional career on loan at Belgian side RFC Seraing, where he made 57 appearances, scoring 36 goals.
