According to Fabrice Hawkins Johann Lepenant will undergo his medical next Tuesday before committing to a 5 year deal at Olympique Lyonnais – Caen are set to receive €6m and a percentage of the player’s resale in return. Marseille are still interested.
L’Équipe and RMC Sport reported earlier this month that an agreement was made between the two clubs which includes a small release clause for the France U20 international which also includes bonuses that could amount over the €6m figure.
Lyon have been chasing Lepenant’s signature in recent months, facing stiff competition from Arsenal and Atlético Madrid to sign the young midfielder, who made 35 appearances last season as a deep-lying midfielder for Caen. The Normand club were hoping to keep Lepenant for a promotion push next season after finishing 9th in Ligue 2 – but the youngster looks certain to sign for Lyon bar any last minute derailments.
