In speaking before Lyon’s mid-week game with Brest, Chelsea’s Italian left-back, currently on loan in Ligue 1 with OL, said that he would be interested in staying with the French club beyond the end of the season. The 27-year-old explained:
“I have no problem saying that I could stay at OL for next season. It’s a pleasure to play here, but it’s not up to me. I’m focused on the last six games of the season… [The Bordeaux] victory was important for us, we responded in the best way, but we want to continue that form. The elimination [to West Ham in Europe] is still a bit in our heads but we have to move on. Now, we must focus on these last 6 games to come.”
Last month, Foot Mercato reported that the Chelsea man’s wage demands could be prohibitive for Lyon should they want to sign the player permanently.
