Christophe Pelissier set to be named Auxerre manager

L’Équipe are reporting that Christophe Pelissier is set to be named as the new manager at Auxerre, once the departure of Jean-Marc Furlan has been finalised.

According to L’Équipe, only the signing of the contract remains before the officialisation of his arrival. Pelissier has been out of work following his departure from Lorient in the summer, but he is now set to make his return to Ligue 1. The Frenchman has been favourite to succeed Furlan at Auxerre. The latter was sacked after a poor run of form and after having raised his middle finger to Clermont Foot fans.

However, before Pelissier arrives, Furlan’s departure must be completed. As of Friday morning, no agreement had been reached for the termination of his contract. A new meeting is scheduled before the club’s match against Reims on Sunday, during which Michel Padovani will stand in for Furlan. Once this agreement is reached, Pelissier will become the new manager at Auxerre.
