French midfielder Christopher Nkunku has today been named Bundesliga player of the season by his colleagues after an impressive season for Leipzig.
The 24-year-old scored 20 times and gave 13 assists across the league season, with his goal tally rising to 34 in all competitions.
He played in all 34 games this season as his team qualified for the Champions League, and will face Freiburg in the German cup final next weekend.
The former Paris Saint-Germain man – who left his formative club for Germany in 2019 – was also rewarded for this season’s performances with his first pair of senior France caps in March.
