Les Bleues manager Corinne Diacre spoke to L’Équipe on her striker’s mentality ahead of tomorrow’s Euro 2022 semi-final against Germany, and backs her attackers to be more effective and efficient in their finishing ability than in the quarter final tie against the Netherlands.
When asked about any psychological preparation ahead of the semi-final, Diacre said:
“There is no question about it, my players are confident and also aware of what they didn’t manage to do in terms of efficiency in the last match. I especially emphasised the mental strength of my group, which was extraordinary in the quarters, they didn’t give up.”
“I also emphasised the group’s state of mind: the players on the side who didn’t play much or at all in that match were extraordinary in terms of the motivation of the girls who were on the pitch, with the heavy responsibility of leading this group to victory. There are no worries on our side.”
