Journalist Saber Desfarges reports this afternoon that Lens and Crystal Palace have reached an agreement over the transfer of Mali international midfielder Cheick Doucouré.
The 22-year-old will make his move to the Premier League for a fee of €26m, consisting of an initial €21m which will then rise by €5m in terms of bonuses, while the Artois club will also retain a 15% cut of the future sell-on fee.
Doucouré is now set to sign a five-year deal with the Londoners to be made official tomorrow, after completing his medical.
Séko Fofana’s midfield partner in Franck Haise’s Lens set-up now leaves the club four seasons after arriving from his native country.
He will have made 138 appearances in total, scoring 8 goals and notching 7 assists, and forming a key part of the Sang et Or team that have won over neutrals with their adventurous style of play. This season saw him make 34 appearances as the team barely missed out on European football for next season, on the final day.
