Following his impressive performance last night against Ivory Coast, which included his first goal for the national team, Aurélien Tchouaméni attracted the praise of French boss Didier Deschamps during the post-match press conference.
“Aurélien is at a high level,” said the World Cup winning manager. “He has enormous potential with a lot of control. He had already shown it in previous matches where he started or came on. With Paul (Pogba) it’s a duo.”
“Aurélien has this capacity to be aggressive and to recover the ball,” he continued, “which is a bit better than Paul. Paul is a bit more forward minded anyway. They really worked as a duo, or even a trio with Antoine Griezmann, which is important.”
