Exclusive | West Ham plan to hijack PSG’s Gianluca Scamacca deal

According to sources contacted by Get French Football News, West Ham United are attempting to gazump PSG in their pursuit of Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca this summer.

Debunking suggestions earlier this week that Paris were about to up their offer to €45m as they hoped to secure the player’s signature before the end of the week as the squad head to Japan for a pre-season tour, PSG are in fact planning on holding firm at their current offer of €35m.

The Hammers have indicated they’re willing to pay more than that, however, and have already made contact with Sassuolo directly over signing the 23-year-old Italian international forward. However, the player has no interest in moving to West Ham currently and has already agreed on personal terms with Paris after scoring 16 league goals this season in Serie A as his club finished eleventh in the table.
