France goalkeeper Mike Maignan’s calf injury resurfaces

Gazzetta dello Sport report this afternoon, as initially indicated by Sky Sport, that Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan has seen his calf injury resurface in training today with the Rossoneri, having just coming back from the injury he picked up while on international duty.

The Italian outlet have pointed out that medical exams are currently underway to determine the extent of the issue, after the former Lille man felt pain in his left calf. Maignan could well be out until next year, it what would be yet another injury blow to Les Bleus just weeks before Didier Deschamps is due to unveil his France squad.

The national team’s second-choice goalkeeper had been planning on making a return for Milan’s match against Monza this Saturday, but will now have to wait before a return to action. When Maignan was forced to pull out of the France set-up in September, it was the veteran Steve Mandanda who took his place.
