Gérald Baticle’s Angers future remains in limbo

L’Équipe report in their issue today that Angers manager Gérald Baticle met with club president SaÏd Chabane yesterday, after being suspended from his duties on November 24.

With the team sitting rock bottom of Ligue 1 over the international break, the coach was relieved of his position but has yet to be fired, with Monday’s preliminary interview not leading to a final decision.

The club’s press team have told the outlet that the president would be mulling over the decision over the next few days, with the 53-year-old – who impressed on first taking over at the start of last season before a spell of poor form – even potentially being brought back into the fray.

In any case, the team has gone out to its mid-season training camp in Murcia with interim manager Abdel Bouhazama at the helm as they await a decision ahead of the Ligue 1 restart against Angers at the end of the month.
