Gerard Pique seemingly not giving up on Red Star bid

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique (35) has seemingly not given up in his bid to buy Red Star FC, despite 777 Partners engaging into exclusive negotiations to purchase the Parisian club at the beginning of April.

Only a matter of days ago, Pique revealed that he and his group, Kosmos, engaged in a late, and ultimately unsuccessful bid to purchase the club. A tweet by Pique now suggests that he hasn’t given up on his bid.

Responding to a tweet by Collectif RS Bauer, an official Twitter account of the Red Star supporters club, which criticised the 777 Partners takeover, Pique tweeted a raised finger emoji, suggesting that he is ready to rival their bid.

Should Pique indeed be throwing his hat back in the ring, it would likely be a welcome move for Red Star fans, who have been very local, and active, in their opposition to the potential deal.
