In an interview with Téléfoot, Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté notably spoke about the prospect of playing in the Champions League final this month against Real Madrid.
The 22-year-old Frenchman, who is impressing in his first season in England, has been a key part of the Premier League side reaching the final – which will be played in his native Paris.
“I thought it was going to feel incredible and that I was going to be emotional, but no, nothing at all [laughs]! Then we watched the other semi-final and saw that it would be Real Madrid, and I thought OK, we’re there now. I’m definitely thinking about it every day.”
“[On the prospect of defending against Karim Benzema] It’s incredible. Especially with the season he’s having, it’s exceptional. But he’s not the only one in their team. My objective is that none of their players score.”
