Inter Milan in discussions with Dan-Axel Zagadou’s agent over free transfer

According to Santi Aouna from Foot Mercato, Inter Milan have entered discussions with the agent of Dan-Axel Zagadou (23) over a potential move to Italy – the central defender is currently a free-agent and can discuss terms with any team that is interested in him.

The French U21 international centre-back has been released from Borussia Dortmund after a knee injury plagued most of the defender’s season – but there was interest from OGC Nice (where former Dortmund boss Lucien Favre is now manager) as well as Manchester United earlier in the window.

Born in the Parisian suburbs, Zagadou played for PSG at youth level until 2017, when the centre back signed a professional contract with Borussia Dortmund.

In a total of 67 appearances, he has won both the German Super Cup in 2019/20 as well as the German National Cup in 2020/21. In the Bundesliga last season, the young centre-back made 15 appearances for Dortmund after a knee injury ruled him out until November.
