Inter Milan target Marcus Thuram as Edin Džeko replacement

As reported by Ignazio Genuardi, in demand French striker Marcus Thuram is being targeted by Champions League clubs ahead of the January transfer window.

Having seen Robert Lewandowski join Barcelona this summer, Bayern Munich are yet to directly replace the 33-year-old Polish forward who scored 344 goals in 375 games for the German club. Thuram has been reported as a potential option for Munich after he hit form for fellow Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach this season, scoring eight times in 11 league games so far.

However, Bayern could face competition from Italian club Inter Milan who are also looking for a striking replacement as they fear losing one or both of Edin Džeko and Joaquin Correa at the end of the season. The 25-year-old France international Thuram is seen as an attractive target for both clubs as his contract at ‘Gladbach is set to expire in the summer and is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with other clubs as soon as January.
