Johan Micoud defends Lionel Messi after being booed at the Parc des Princes

Following the Ligue 1 fixture yesterday between Paris Saint-Germain and Bordeaux (3-0), former Girondin Johan Micoud, who won both the league and the League Cup with the club, came out in support of Messi after the Argentine was targeted by boos every time he touched the ball.

“No but seriously how can we whistle at Messi every time he touches the ball?” wrote the Euro 2000 winner on Twitter. “We’re really hitting rock bottom. It’s only in France that you can see this… really sad! They quite simply don’t deserve it… In my opinion, he’ll leave this summer and he’d have every reason to….”

This comes after Cesc Fabregas and Luis Suarez also took to social media to show their support for Lionel Messi.
