Having been called up to the national team for the first time at the age of 29 this week, Lens right-back Jonathan Clauss was filmed arriving at the French national headquarters, Clairefontaine, for the Fédération Française de Football YouTube channel.
“It’s incredible, I still don’t realise,” he said, noticeably in awe. “I saw the badges on the right, on the left, the forest, the Clairefontaine sign. It’s weird but it’s beautiful.”
Having approached the famous steps that lead up to the centre, Clauss joked, “I don’t even know where it is. Do we go in here? I imagined it a bit differently. Wow… I’m a kid again. I have no words.”
