Jonathan David could stay an extra year at Lille

Journalist Saber Desfarges reports tonight that Jonathan David could stay at Lille an extra year, despite the forward’s agent indicating otherwise.

Les Dogues are even looking to pair up their Canadian goalscorer with Strasbourg’s Ludovic Ajorque, who also has interested from Nice as well as clubs abroad.

The 22-year-old, whose goalscoring form has dropped off since the turn of the year, could be one of the few from last year’s title winning team to stay as around 10 departures are expected.

Among those, striker Burak Yilmaz, midfielder Xeka as well as Jérémy Pied are on the way out, although captain José Fonte could still extend for one more campaign.
